Editing is both a science and an art, and no two projects are the same. There is an efficient system of rules we are taught to follow, but we also have to know when to break those rules to best serve the author and their intended audience. An editor knows when to use our imaginations to visualize the outcome, and there is a great deal of instinct that is required to improve the written word.

While an editor’s objective is to correct the errors we find, it is vital that we do so while maintaining the author’s voice and giving the individual attention each person deserves.  My clients should always feel supported and reassured that they will have the final say in their work.

My goal is to collaborate as a team—cementing trust in the editor-client relationship—while delivering high-quality work.
